About 2 hours.. with the blood trail consistency and air in the blood I thought we had him... I've never hit one like that, at this point I'm just sick.

Don't give in so soon, you may have bumped him while tracking. Good luck on tracking him!

Well guys I was unable to pick up anymore blood and an extensive search through some very thick terrain turned up nothing. Checked near by water as well. Wish I had some better news but I dont... hopefully the deer can heal up and keep going. When I reviewed the deers travel path after the shot it made little sense to me that the deer chose to climb steep terrain multiple times when it was not really necessary. But then again they are unpredictable.

shot a nice 8pt today a 2pm ! i walked in the woods and spooked a group of does and they headed back towards their bedding area so i jumped in a brush pile against a dead fall figuring if the does were just here i bet you a buck will come looking for them.i forgot i had hot doe pee on my boots from my last set up but i got reminded when the buck came threw the brush looking for me and stepped out 5 yards in front of me and was about to head right at me when i let him have it!!he ran towards me then cut left last minute and dropped 20 yards right in front of me!

Well guys this is my last weekend to hunt. My time in Georgia and in the Army is over. My family and I are happy to be moving back home to Wisconsin. Hope I can get at least put one more down before it's over.

Hey guys. Haven't been on here much between work and hunting but I am still here. Been after a high 140ish buck. I know where he lives and been hunting a travel corridor (when i have a north wind) between there and wheat field. so far he has beaten me but it's not over.

halfway through our rut and quite frankly my chances are probably better afterwards, assuming he doesn't meet his demise beforehand

We are just a handful of deer of being in the hunt for first place I have two buck tags. i should be good for at a 115-125 buck and still a doe sometime. What the reasonable chances of some of you other guys of still getting some points? i don't care, just curious and might affect what priority i give to a smaller buck as well as my "target" buck.

I haven't had much luck with hunting this year. Between work and family related issues, my chance is slim. The only good thing I can say is, that we can bow hunt all season long. There is still time! Slow rut phase here.
