What's your sign on the arrow and ground?

More details needed, more the better.

4" penetration back on a deer is in some sort of vitals. Without knowing where you hit exactly think you have no choice but to back out. Hope he beds down and dies fairly close.

Well I'm 98% ready for IL firearms season opener tomorrow. Except the new Tahoe I'm buying wasn't ready at the dealership because they close a 6. Luckily my brother is going to let me borrow his truck. Also, the slugs I shoot with my Mossberg bolt action 12g are sold out everywhere. My bad on waiting. Luckily I found 2 in my vest. I picked up a couple of boxes of cheap slugs for back up. You never know when your shot takes out a leg and you have to go commando

Hope you're not talking about going commando in another man's fatigues

Good luck in the morning, if I go out Sunday will be the day.

I would ask you if you were in my tree stand, but you saw a deer so I know you weren't!

That makes for a long day...so hard to stay in it mentally when that happens.

SS, I was thinking the same thing about my stands. lol It's ironic, I was just the other day thinking about how I go to my stand with a renewed optimism EVERY TIME, even though I haven't seen a thing in days. The rut is what keeps my mental game going. Just the other day, I sat for 7 hours without a deer sighting, and right at last light I heard my FIRST chasing/tending/grunting of this entire season. This just reinforces my belief that it really can happen any time, even when you're dealing with low deer numbers, like some of us seem to be. lol
