I grew up in Western NY and moved to Cincinnati not too long ago. This is my first season hunting in Ohio and I couldn’t be happier with this beauty! Public land can be tough but I put some time in and it worked out! Not sure what this guy will score but I can’t wait for the venison!
I grew up in western NY myself. Looks like you are getting settled in to hunting OH just fine. Congrats, thats a hell of a buck!
Congrats! Bet it feels great to have gotten out of WNY! LOL I'm orignally from Buffalo, living in Erie PA now but ocntinuing to hunt Chautauqua County.
Haha. NY had some good deer hunting. The waterfowl hunting in the finger lakes was great too! But i never got a buck like this!
I moved to Oh not too long ago and wasn't able to scout as much as I usually do. I put some cameras out on public land and only got pictures of small bucks. I didn't know this big guy was even around. I hunted once or twice a week throughout September on the same public ground. The rut started to heat up at the end of october here in SW OH. Halloween afternoon and had small bucks chasing doe all around me. Finally around 5:00 PM this giant came crashing by chasing a doe. He stopped 20 yards brought side just long enough for me to put an arrow through him. He also ran 10 yards and dropped. I am happy it happened so quick or else I would have got pretty nervous. I barely had time to even look at his rack. It was not an easy task to drag his 250 lb body out of the woods!
That my friend, is a buck of a lifetime! I might not look at deer hunting the same way after killing such a brute. lol
