Of course.. I get a couple deer and people are all over me about giving them some meat and what not.. but I'm tired of just giving it away. i dont think that is legal. you can sell wild game for cost of processing but not for profit....i think
It is illegal to sell wild game. I've never charged nor have people asked me for any. I give some to family. I would tell those asking that it would be illegal for me to sell it to them, so they can make a donation of a 6pk, 12pk, case of beer depending on how much i'm GIVING them.
If its sausage made with spices, salt, cure and pork and casings, sell them those ingredients and throw in the venison for free. Your selling the other stuff and giving away the venison. If its whole cuts of meat, sell the wrapping paper and tape and plastic wrap and include the venison for free. Charge what they will pay. If you are too high, they wont buy it and then you will know the going rate. You can perhaps barter for it as well. Once you kill it, its yours.
They would probably be willing to make donations to go towards the expenses of hunting and hunting gear that it took to kill the deer
Also you have to send along a copy of tag info whether you give it away or sell the spices. Some places like Missouri get plumb crazy if they catch someone with game meat.
I've always just asked people to kick in some $$ for the cost of processing - especially if they want sausage, snack sticks, etc. As most have already said, selling wild game meat is technically illegal.

Like others have said I would just have them cover the processing bill for whatever the percentage is they want.
A few years ago a local guy around here was caught at selling deer meat. Cost him almost 6 thousand in lawyer fees and fines and loss of hunting and fishing for quite a while. Not worth it to me but I can see yall that pay for processing getting that back one way or another.
I usually just give it away and let them do whatever, depending on who it is sometimes they get the whole deer and sometimes it's just quartered up. Like you I only offer it to freinds and most of them will kick in if it's been to the processor. May change this year thi because I know one of our local butcher shops isn't doin the donation program this year. I'm guessing they got stiffed on some sort of state money for labor in processing deer. Can't say I blame them completely if that's the case, your time has to be worth something. So because of that I may end up giving some away if someone needs it. Personally I don't think I should be paid to do a hobby I like to do so it's not that big of a deal to me. Selling is illegal absolutely. Violates the Lacey Act and I'm sure other state and federal regulations. I've been reimbursed for the meat. Shot a deer for a friend, tagged it and called in, both of us went to the processor. I told them I was giving him the deer and they took his money and information and he got his deer when it was done. He reimbursed me the price of tag and gave me a bit extra for gas. Think it was $25 total. You take out a craigslist add offering steaks, burger, jerky etc. Expect to get a visit from your local DNR or worse. Unless it is farm raised and USDA inspected you cannot sell it commercially.
My old boss loves venison but has never been a hunter so every year I shoot an extra doe for him & he pays for the processing. That was my solution when he kept asking to "buy" some deer sausage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
