The guy who helped create Sitka is the founder of Kuiu. He knows his stuff and I love their clothes.

Just for clarity does Sitka outside of silver utilize any scent precautions in their gear?

Obviously the wicking ability does fight moisture which assists in odor control.

Aside from the Polygiene on the base/next to skin layers, no.

Insulation/outer layer built in scent control isn't even a selling point to me on a garment.

Was just seeking if they used activated carbon or zeolite or such, was more curious than anything.

I will admit that I didnt know that, but it seems like they are obviously going for the same strategy as sitka with expensive but good quality products. I have never tried them because I have never had a reason to leave sitka.

Yes very good products. Never have tried Sitka but would if I ever felt the need to. I have been happy with my kuiu gear. The fit is awesome!

They'll have a new camo for western hunters coming out next year. It'll be another big bill for me. Several people are testing it out right now. Looks pretty good IMO.

Just bought the Fanatic Lite jacket, bibs and a beanie. Super comfortable, super quiet. Zippers are awesome and the amount and location of pockets is really handy as well. I did get busted last weekend by a nicer 9 pt and not by the wind, but I think it was my face and not the camo. Couldn't be happier with it so far.

Very well could be. I know all the western guys sponsored by Sitka are wearing it this year.

yep, looks like the ground forest I got off of eBay, awesome pattern even in the southeast.

in regards to the op's question, I always thought about the times I was miserable in the stand because I was cold or when I had trouble drawing because I was bundled up like the staypuff marshmallow man; Sitka solved those problems for me. I can be comfortable with minimal layers and sit longer in bad conditions.
Now do the math of the additional cost of Sitka over what you would purchase otherwise and divide that by the number of hours in the stand, the numbers were easy for me to justify the expense

Someone that used both UA and Sitka to compare the 2. UA is made for active hunters, which it works quite well, probably to good when your moving, you sit for any extended period of time though you'll freeze your *** off wearing UA.

For what it's worth I was in the stand with my eBay Sitka Gear (not as pricey) 28 degree's, breezy, felt like high teens for a four hour sit. The only cold I was feeling was in my feet. I noticed more than just the cut of the gear, I also noticed how quite the gear was, how easy it was to climb the tree with my climber and beyond that; like I said before, the thought that goes into the gear.

Sitka Core base layers, Traverse heavy weight hoody, Sitka 90% fleece lined pant & wind stopper beanie. I also had a LL Bean merino wool top for a mid layer which is thin but adds warmth without bulk. All of the Sitka was Open Country.

I've heard that too or at the very least cause's remission. I've also heard their using Sitka to feed the hungry in some third world countries.

Listen, it is worth it. If you do get divorced, you won't be cold AND you probably will actually save money based on my relationship experiences!
