So today I made my first all day sit... All I can say is they are in it big time in southern Indiana. I saw 7 different bucks.. of which 4 were shooters and I never got to full draw on any of them. The biggest was in the 60's and I just about sucked air up my butt when he stopped at 20 Yards with no vitals to shoot at!!! It's on... get in the woods if you can!!!l
Good luck. we really could use more points. The leaderboard has been updated and the leader has 766 points. We have our work cut out for us. I'm not going to be out this weekend since i got my big one last weekend. My fiance asked me to take a week or two break since i've been hunting so hard this year already. Been out every weekend since oct. 1st.
Heading out for my last sit this morning before gun season opens. Hope to see a good one today and close out early bow season with a buck. Saturday I'll be sitting in a stand that has produced many fine bucks over years for me at my family farm. Indiana is a one buck state, so my buck hunting will very likely be over after tomorrow unless it ends today. I'll still get out with a bow some, but most likely it will be late season for slick heads to fill the freezer with... Good luck out there and be safe friends
Well I think I screwed the pooch on a nice 8 point this morning. Hit him in the shoulder. Got maybe 5 inches of penetration. Snapped the arrow off on tree as he ran away. Been 2 hours since I shot him. Going to get down and see what I got for blood. Not got a good feeling about it. I have lost one several years ago shot the same way.
Tracking minute drops of blood and jumped him?! He is hot on a doe and is feeling no pain. Backing off as there is nothing more I can do..
Well here are some points. They are much but this is my biggest buck with a bow that I found. He came in at 40 yards I grunted he closed it to 20 and I shot high hit him in the spine. 2nd shot sprint as well, 3rd shot straight through the back and center of the ️
Now this doesn't count because it was with my .270, but my Dad and I both put down 8 pointers this morning during Missouri's rifle season opening weekend! Not the biggest we've shot, but this is my favorite hunt to date!
