    So frustrating. He shot the buck and it bedded down 15 yards after the shot. He stayed in stand till 40 minutes after dark.

    When we got there we found the bed but no deer. The blood trail confuses me. It went into the bean field about 5 yards and then turned around and walked the edge. We lost the trail after only 30 yards. We came back for more lights and to warm up. [​IMG][​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]

    Blood went from that to nothing.

    I was thinking so. Before the bed it looked like it was spraying a bit. But we found a small piece of fat on a leaf. I'm baffled.

    What kind of angle did he hit the buck?
    Was it a low shot? Was it from a high angle?

    Very slightly quartering away. Complete pass thru. He's not positive of shot placement but the arrow had brown hair on it. A meat hit the deer wouldn't have bed down after 15 yards

    It'd have to be far back for liver. If it was quartering away then one lung might be best case scenario. I'd take up search in the morning if coyotes aren't a concern. She'll be dead somewhere, might've just got bumped by a buck or something
