I am packing up today,fly out tomorrow to Kansas, will have 9.5 days to hunt. Will keep you all posted from the stand.
I'm afraid that my hunting time will be compromised once the time changes tonight. Evening hunting time will be cut shorter due to work leaving morning hunts on the weekends my best bet.
Just settles in for my last hunt until next weekend. Curse work and the time change. They both get in the way of hunting.
Today wrapped up my rut vacation. I had 11 sits on 4 different small properties. My grand total was 9 different bucks, 14 does and 36 turkeys. Only one of the bucks, the 130" 10, even got my heart pumping. This was by far my slowest rut vaca, but I've only been at it 4 years.
Haha, yup I had the best case of the mondays ever yesterday. Finally connected with a hitlister named Cricket we have 3 years of history with. I got lucky. He just happened to be tending a doe all morning around the stand. Eventually they worked their way close enough for me to seal the deal. Don't know what he scores yet as he went straight to the taxidermist for him to score it. Regardless he's a buck of a lifetime. Here is a few more pictures of him:
