Yesterday morning (November 8th) I hunted a stand in one of the thickest areas we have. After passing a 2.5 year old 8 point early and seeing a spike horn tailing a doe i was able to connect with the biggest buck to date for me at 9:55 am. I nearly missed the chance completely, as around 9:45 I packed up all my gear and started to lower my bow down when I thought i heard something down the hill below me. I pulled my bow back up and threw out a couple grunts. Within 5 minutes i saw him coming up the hill at me. Pulled back on him once when he was in a small hole about 30 yards out, but opted not to take the shot because I was pretty sure he would turn and head back into the thick stuff which would take him right through my main shooting lane at about 18 yards. He did exactly what I expected, and i was able to put a good shot on him. He ran about 100 yards down hill and was all done. After shooting 2.5 years old bucks that last two years, i told my self i was holding out for at least a 3.5 year old, and it paid off big!
Absolutely GORGEOUS Ny buck! Here in the southern zone WMU 3F we dont get many deer of that calibur. But Congrats
