I am sitting on a ridge top located on a giant mountain hill that connects to a huge series of cattle pastures on one end and some low thick bottoms area on the other. We don't hunt this stand often because it sucks getting here and depending on which way they run it can really suck getting a deer out. But that being said this is where you go if the mature buck activity shuts off on the main property. I packed a lunch and some tp because if my fat out of shape *** is making the trip up here I am staying all day!
10 minutes after climbing into the stand, a small buck came through chasing a couple of does. It was too dark to tell what he was. Good sign though. Maybe things are heating up. Blessings...........Pastorjim
Right before light I had heard some soft fighting I thought so I just did a very light rattle sequence and a basket 8 came bursting out of river bottom. That was fun

Set up on a corner of a bean field in front of me is a swap area. Bedding area to my left and bedding area in my front. Hoping to get a Biggin passing thur.
Been in stand for an hour now no activity yet 47 degrees and a little rain....same stand I saw a decent 8 chasing doe last week hope big boy comes through today
Set up between a couple bedding areas. Put the decoy out. We'll see, this will be my last morning out until the weekend. It's cool cloudy with a north wind. Feels like November. I figured I'd join since I read this constantly in the stand! Haven't seen any daytime deer movement up in Duluth mn except when I'm not hunting! Took a week off trying it again this morning
That 8 pointer came back and stuck around for a little bit. I know a couple of shooters are hanging around here, just need them to cruise by.
