So I've been shooting my bow for almost a year and I'm 15. A few months ago I shot too much and I had upper arm pain. I stopped shooting for a few weeks. It got better I shot normal again. Fast forward to now. I have not been over shooting if anything undershooting. And now it hurts again. I shoot 41 pounds. Could it be that I work 3 days of the week shipping 40-70 lb treestands? I can't stop hunting its the rut! What should I do? The only drawing back Im doing is to test my lanes, and I shot twice at squirrels. What should I do? I really need help
When that big buck walks in I doubt you will feel that pain.. In all seriousness, if you're 15 you shouldn't be experiencing these types of aches and pains unless you had a previous injury. Might be worth getting checked out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Upper arm pain is a little vague. which arm, front or back, Upper arm as in Bicep or shoulder. Is it only pain when shooting or does it hurt when lifting at your job. Is the pain only during draw, does the pain stop once you reach full draw.
You only need to draw back once more this season.. When the deer shows up ! After that, see a doc and stop shooting for a while.
This summer I was shooting daily. I was doing well, so I raised my bow draw weight up three more pounds. Then all of a sudden it hurt. I could only shoot three arrows and I was in pain. I couldn't figure out why. So I adjusted to the pain and did what I could. Then it started feeling better and I was back to normal. Fast forward, a couple weeks ago the same thing happened. I couldn't even put my arm above my head without shooting pain. Turns out I dislocated my shoulder. Got it popped back in and I am good to go. Obviously something isn't right - talk to your parents and get it checked out.
Right arm I shoot right handed front bicep hurts lifting at job and it hurts at full draw but its worse while drawing back
I'm no Doctor, but it sounds like you may have pulled a muscle? It needs to be rested to get better, not taxed.
I think that is a good sign. I'd be more worried about shoulder pain. Take it easy and rest it as much as you can.
Not a Dr. by any means, but it sounds to me like you have a case of Tendinitis. Ice regularly, and rest. Could be an over use injury.
15 year old male, over use of dominant arm? Wild guess not the first time the doctor's seen that one...
recommend getting it checked out ASAP. ignore it could result in a torn muscle or screwed up shoulder with a year long rehab. you have a lifetime of great bowhunting ahead of you if you take care of your shoulders today. I'll add that I have several friends who have to hunt with crossbows now because their shoulders are screwed up. don't be one of them.
