I'm already ready for the evening hunt. Seeing all the deer last night helped me develop a plan for the evening. Time to break out the decoy.

After my brother shot buck...he sees a monster 10....at ten yards! I think he just learned why I come to Wisconsin, and why you pass on 2.5 year old bucks!

I will post pics as soon as i get over there. Sitting until 9.30 cst

I've been taught November 7th is the day more pope & young and Boone & Crockett bucks are shot than any other day.

Anyone hunting ridgetops. I am and they seem to be dried up. No action at all. Acorns everywhere but deer vanished. Might have to hunt lowlands. Couple hours from now im wading the river to the orchard. Then it will be time for " live action! Yiyiyiyi!".

I couldn't take it anymore. Quit hunting and went to search some more.

I'm scoring these spill banks looking for our buck.

These spill banks are tough to walk very steep but can cover a lot or ground looking and makes it easy to know where you walked already.

That being said I've covered quite a bit of ground so far with nothing to show. A couple things seem obvious at this point.

    1. I probably shouldn't have taken that shot. Even if it turned out to be a fatal shot for him to make it this far, bleed this much and climb hills and such it really defies logic.

    2. His will to survive is quite amazing.

    3. My will to find him has not lessened. I will cover every spill bank in this place at least 40 to 60 more acres to cover.

I've hunted in spoil banks in Pike Co. Indiana. It is some tough going. Good luck to you. Keep us updated as you can.

I always hunt the low areas in the morning. The thicker morning air pushes the scent down and the Bucks typically cruise those areas in the a.m.
Then hunt the high areas in the afternoon because of the opposite

Heading home from class, going to cram in as much homework as I can today. So I can do an all day set tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
