Hunting a new location I hung this afternoon. Saw the first chasing buck if the year this morning. Whole thing lasted 3 seconds. Didn't see anything else.
That's why I stay, but I know what happens Does are already 1/2 mile away, bucks not far behind them. Yesterday spoiled me, not used to reality yet. Still seen 7 today though.

Called it quits early tonight. Forget the headphones for my five year olds portable DVD player. He couldn't stay quiet and wanted to come home and watch the Razorbacks. Decided that was better than making him miserable and not enjoy the experience. It is a little early for good rut action in Arkansas. On the plus side, I taught him to use a grunt call and a can call tonight. He is decent at but too enthusiastic and wants to do it nonstop.
Just watched 2 bucks fight. One was a big boy. Tried to grunt and snort weeze but he wasnt interested.
