Tomorrow is looking decent. Too warm for me today. Haven't had dump for daytime pictures when its this warm so far this October.
I've had a few small bucks hanging around most of the day...one is a spike/3 point on one side, he has a big body though and keeps coming by and standing broadside at 20-30yds....he does it again I might lose my patience and ruin his day... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had my first productive day in the stand had a 6 point come in broadside and stand underneath my stand then I had dagger come into 40 yards but could not get a clear shot, this is him he came through at 12:30
Tonight I had a nice encounter with a wide 8 but he stayed out of range so I sadly couldn't put him down. That's how my evening hunt went.
Got completely skunked yesterday evening then tonight went much better. Saw a young 8 pointer chasing some does, then saw a really nice 10 pointer about an hour before sundown. Came out 20 yards away but on the neighbors land. Started to walk away so I gave a soft grunt but he didn't care and kept on moving away.

My weekend was completely uneventful. Saw few deer. Not a lot of action on the cameras. I'm going to let my stand cool down and hit it hard this weekend regardless of the weather. I did see a giant in a field on the horizon. Even with him being about 500 yards away and with limited light, I could clearly make out a huge rack.
Haven't been out since Sunday. Let us know how you do tomorrow. I was debating going out tomorrow, but doesn't look like I'll have time.
I'm off Thursday/Friday...taking the wife down to St. Louis Wednesday for a hockey game, will hunt Thursday afternoon if I get back in time, other wise it will just be Friday....may sneak out for an afternoon hunt Saturday.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Took off tomorrow for an all day hunt. Only day of the week I can get off. Be in the tree all weekend for sure. Really looking forward to cooler temps.
Saw a lot of chasing last weekend but never chased my direction. Gonna try to get out this evening after work and definitely as much time as possible this weekend. Good luck to anyone else!
If anyone hears of any leases in the southeast iowa area let me know. Looking for some new land for next year, or looking to join a lease if someone knows of a group needing another person.... would like to keep it located with in and hour to hour and a half drive from home, I live in Keokuk, far southeast corner.
Nice deer doepatrol! And I'm on the same page Wesley--I really would like to find a lease next year if there was one around and affordable. The main place I have to hunt is hunted by a lot of different guys and gets over hunted. Trying out public land for the first time this year just to have a little bit of variation but not doing to well there either. Do any of you use Millennium stands? I just ordered the M7 Microlite since it only weighs 8.5 pounds. But after watching some videos of people hanging it using their cam lock receiver they don't look very solid against the tree. Anyone have any insight?
