It's gotten easier since the wings are in the east...the first few years of our marriage got a little rocky during playoffs...I'm enough of a hockey fan to enjoy going to any game though, we went to 2 in chicago, 1 in Detroit, and 1 in St. Louis last season. I want to go to the classic so bad but don't think it will happen, I might be going to the joe though in a few months when they play the blues again, my good buddy is a detr5fan and he had never been to the joe
That's why I went last year to Detroit, wanted to go to the joe at least once before they left...we tried to get tickets the other day for the classic when they went on public sale, but no luck...just gonna wait till I get my Christmas bonus and buy re-sale tickets I guess and pay 3 times the face value....but yet scalping is illegal and that's not...makes no sense to me. If you do go to Detroit, we stayed at the Greek town casino/hotel. It was in a good/safe location and it was a decent place. Has restaurants there and a big parking garage that was free parking. Not super close to the joe, but close to the people mover and they have several different shuttles that come by to take people to the games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had a big 10 pointer at 17 yards today follow a doe to 7 yards. Then tried busting me. Trotted out to 30 and I missed him after clipping a branch. Haunting me today. Back out Sunday after the hunt Sunday I'll be trimming trees no doubt.
Man you had a better hunt than me. Sat all day yesterday and saw a handful of deer. Not a lot of action at all. Camera has been hot though with nice bucks during the day before yesterday. They seemed to have bedded in weird places Wednesday night judging by where I saw deer coming out to feed in the corn fields. I also jumped a bunch that were bedded down in the morning in a place that I have never seen deer. Just a weird day for me. Morning sits only this weekend and then going to hit it hard next Friday.
Glad to hear people are seeing some more buck activity. I've hardly been able to get out lately so I can't share any reports. Going to get out Saturday afternoon/evening and see what happens--hopefully I'll see a little chasing or bumping since a lot of my friends in the area have been seeing some. Good luck!
Finally getting caught up with work a bit and hope to be out at least one day next week. Looking at Thursday 20% rain in the morning high of 59, I just cant get over how warm its been this October.
Yeah I hate it and it's definitely affecting deer movement. I keep waiting for that big cold front, but all we have been getting are little cold fronts that arn't even enough to frost. And I don't see much change in the 15 day forecast.
