So what kind of activity has everybody been seeing in the midwest regarding the rut?

I'll let you know Sunday when I get back to MN this Saturday! Friends/family aren't seeing too much yet from preliminary reports... hopefully Halloween lives up to its typical hype.

Same as every year. Young bucks giving it a try. Mature bucks still moving after dark.

I've seen 2 smaller bucks running around but my hit list bucks aren't showing up in day time hours. Lots of does movement though. I did notice the tarsal glands are getting darker so it should be kicking into gear with each day that passes

I had an encounter with the #2 on my "hit list" & he was making scrapes like crazy & acting very rut like but was following a small 2X2 like they were best buddies.

I was lucky enough to catch this guy cruising through the river bottom on the 26th here in northwest Iowa. First and only deer I saw all night ImageUploadedByBowhunting.com Forums1477714022.138933.jpg

Just in from a rainy hunt in central Minnesota. A couple little bucks grunting and chasing does the last minutes of shooting time. Big guys still moving at dark. Tons of rubs and scrapes.

Northern IL, saw about 10 does this weekend, none tended by any bucks. Only saw a real small 8pt around 11am when I was checking cameras. All the decent bucks are active at night, set up cameras on new rubs and scrape lines along the field edge/creek bottom. Have not gotten an antlered deer on camera in daylight yet, property has about 4 or 5 deer around 150" so they are around. Hope next weekend is primo because the 8th - 11th I have to go to a wedding out of state... BS.

Mature buck came into a rattle/ grunt sequence and decoy. Definitely there to defend his territory.

Central Illinois (Fayette County) this past weekend was very slow. Saw a few does bunched together and a few small bucks. All bigger bucks were nighttime pics. Hope it picks up next week. Headed down for a week.

It's been warm here. There hasn't been much daylight movement. Except a few does and small bucks here and there right at last light.
I have lots of pics at night though.

    Mid-East Indiana on Indiana/Ohio border.

Very little deer movement here in MI with the temps reaching almost 70... Still lots of night time pics of deer moving. Hoping for cooler weather. I think it will take off quick if we get a cold snap.
