Awesome Lung....I hunted the past couple evenings. Saturday evening I slipped into a stand I shot last year's buck out of....nothing moved till dark and then only when walking back to truck. Still felt good and the standing corn I think is just swallowing up the deer on this section of the farm. Last night I decided to slip up into the edge of the big woods about 100 yards North of our food plot (90% cereal grains 10% brasscias) which we've been getting a ton of doe pictures of. Suspected they were bedding to the North and moving to it...sure enough. Had a group of 4 come 45 minutes before dark and work their way out of the bedding right past me...the two biggest ones (fully mature) nearly got an arrow after they sniffed my entrance trail and came 5 yards from base of tree...never blew though and then took an unexpected exit route to the West which was my EXACT entrance route. lol....evercalm for the win! I probably would have let one of the moose does have it had one of the yearlings been a doe yearling instead of button. I try to leave doe groups to 3 minimum...so if I shoot one it will be late season possibly...lot of time left in this game, not worried one bit. Anyone else any updates?
Well fellas can't resist...cold front has set in for day two...rain predicted tomorrow morning...East wind= I'm hunting the New Property this afternoon/evening at the short entrance spot. Fingers crossed. I am torn if Splits shows.....gonna be a moment decision.....Big Dave or Gary get it swiftly without hesitation though.
Well all finally got around to getting out after works kept me occupied but just put an arrow through a doe, giving it a bit and waiting for some buddies to show up and start the tracking job! I'll keep y'all posted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not sure if I get the chance at this one if ill take it. He is a 6x6 with split G2 so a 13 pointer. Great genetics to make a booner next year.
After tomorrow I'll be in the woods for two strait weeks. Should be able to put something on the ground. Good luck on the recovery. Sent from my USCC-C6721 using Tapatalk
Welp....plan now is to get Pops on one of the bigger boys and consider public Michigan or Kentucky bow hunting for me.... Story to come. He isn't the biggest by any means for me but special character and the very first deer and buck off the piece of ground purchased this spring. He was eating chicory/cereal grains at shot....but had tore two scrapes up right before.
Yes sir you splits showed up and you couldn't resist. Congrats!!! Sent from my USCC-C6721 using Tapatalk
