Had a doe come by at 630 at 15 yds. I usually get skunked my first sit of the year on the public land. Maybe that is a good sign.

Had a 6 point come in about 70 yard and then a nice 8 at about 22 yard. Never gave me a shot though. It was nice to see something opening day.

Weird night for me. About 530 the wind died and it seemed everything got quiet even the birds, squirrels and frogs. Seemed like something should have been moving but nothing. Talked to the guy hunting across the road and his experience was the same.

Went out in the morning. Did not see a deer.

Went out in the evening. Did not see a deer.

Came home at night after the evening sit...pull into my driveway...two deer frolicking in my front yard.

Seen a nice buck and a dandy buck on my ride home.. a couple of weeks ago seen another big buck in that same area. Need to see who owns that farm land/woods and ask if I can hunt there!

Well I waited until dark to go find her because I was covered up in does and spikes all afternoon. But here she is not big but not small and will eat just fine.

I missed a decent buck tonight. He was a little farther than I aimed for and it sailed right under him. Perfect left to right. At first I thought the arrow burried right where I wanted it but he jumped, stopped, and came right back in for about 5 minutes tring to figure out what happened. I just couldn't move and grab another arrow with where he was standing. Then he bounded one time, turned and walked off. I found the arrow and it was clean. I can't be certain, but I think it was the 9 point we have targeted from our summer pictures. Disappointing but he will be there for another day.
