Anyone ever shot a squirrel that decided to camp out 5 yards away and bark at you? Cause I am thinking about it.

All nestled up next to a trail 18 ft up on a white oak that funnels over to a food plot from a bedding area they like. Rains light, birds are chirping, and temps are in the 50's.

Oh, did I mention my release fell out in my truck before I made the 1/4 mile trip into the woods with my climber on public land?

Already has a skinny fawn scoot across the lane. Looking for antlers... but I fear today's not my day. ImageUploadedByBowhunting.com Forums1475324731.503364.jpg

Happy IL opener boys!!! I'm psyched out of my mind. I've had 6 does in bow range this AM. Also saw a cat. Perfect wind, nice and still. It feels so good! Good luck everyone

Well I was woke up at 3 am this morning, but it was work related and so I've been up this time working instead of doing the thing I wish I could be doing. There's a slight fog here in S IL and the temps are mild in the 50's. Good luck all

Haven't seen anything since right at day break. Trying to make a effort this year at staying out later in the morning tho so we'll see ha. Heard something blow and start moving other direction while bout 20 mins ago. Didn't sound close enough that I got busted so don't know what spooked them.

A buck snuck in on my downwind side and bedded about 40 yards away. I couldn't see him and had no idea how big he was.
I was having heart palpitations for a half hour before he got a whiff of me, got up and walked off.
Just a little 6 point

Hmmmm. Well I didn't even get a chance to talk to the guy. He was here he was cooking, after I had had my breakfast, I asked the waitress if the owner art was here, and if I could talk to him. She went in the back, came back out and said he was too busy right now. There were only two other people in the restaurant eating. LOL! Time to lace up my hiking boots I guess.

Momma and 2 babies just came, babies ate for about 10 minutes while mom watched from about 10 yards behind. Mom got skittish and walked away, still catching glimpses of them feeding about 50-60 yards away, hoping my dad can get an arrow in one of them.
