One more crappy work day and then I'll be in the stand. Calling for rain but I'll be out. Losing my time at the end of the year so I'm using all of it this season. I'll be off and hunting from OCT 25 to Nov 12. I'm still back and forth if I want to go to Nebraska. I'd like to do that the last week of October.
My son was sitting with a buddy Saturday because I had to work and had a nice bear come in with a big white V on his chest. My buddy did the opposite of what I asked him from the last mess up they had and after watching and filming him for 15 minutes he had him shoot when the bear was still moving and he missed. I watched the footage and thought they couldnt have F'ed up more. Too many people get hung up filming and try and get as much footage as possible instead of killing the animal the first good shot opportunity.
I am going to check some cameras on Saturday and see if any big bucks have moved in. Hopefully something good will have come down the ridge line.
See that a lot these days. Missing completely is usually the best possible outcome. I plan to get more into filming, but shooting deer will always be the priority. Guess that means no professional career for me.

Not much big buck action where I usually hunt on the lease but I put corn out where my daughter hunts because I can when we are not hunting to see what was around and have this buck pretty much tied up. He came in 9 days in a row and 12 out of 15 before sunset. My 13 year old daughter saw the pictures of him and made me promise no one else would go in there before she hunts there in a couple of weeks.
