Well it has not been a very enjoyable September for me besides the fact I got married on the 10th it has been downhill since. The following Wednesday after our wedding I found out my uncle listed all his land for sale which is where I have hunted all my life. He has really good land for hunting and I know it won't take long for someone to buy it. I was really bummed out when I found out cause I always wanted to build a house out there and hopefully someday was able to take over. Unfortunately, the luck doesn't stop there. Later that night I was playing kickball with my kids when I felt a pop in my knee. After laying there knowing it was more than likely my acl I spent a couple hours at the hospital took some X-rays and now I wait for my MRI which is Friday so I will know my hunting season then.

That is unfortunate and I hope that your luck changes.

Best wishes for good news on that MRI. I have such bad luck my wife jokingly calls it the "Cooper Cloud of Doom". So I can relate, but stay positive and keep moving forward.

When it rains, it pours! Good luck getting back in the game, and you will.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but hang in there it will all work out in the end. It always does. Just have to stay positive and in front of it all.

hopefully the event on the 10Th is not part of your bad luck because that one is going to be around for ever with or without her. One god thing that could come from this if you can't hunt. You will be able to spend more time with your new bride building a stronger relationship.

In all seriousness, good luck with everything. Maybe your uncle can grandfather in a clause in the sell giving you some type of hunting rights as long as the land stys in the same use. Just a thought. Once again good luck with the MRI.

Good luck man. I know if I ever broke a leg or whatever, I would drag myself into the woods if I have too. I would find a way no matter what to be in a tree.

I wonder what you're supposed to learn from this. Best of luck going ahead.

Since you can't work with a messed up leg, I'll bet you can figure out a way to get a ground blind set up and hunt from it.

I was thinking the marriage was the start of the downhill slide...from a guy who's been married 5 years

But the land...Oh no!...hopefully you'll get to hunt it this year...only other thing you can do is buy it yourself.

As for the knee even if it is something like an ACL there's hope...you can always brace it up and hunt for the season then get it repaired at a later date.

^^what this guys said and also having to hunt a new area can be a good thing. It will be a lot more work and will only make you a better hunter! I have had to strap my knee up a few times for hunting. It's not that bad. Better then sitting in front of the TV for sure.

Life does find a way to put things in perspective. My grand mothers always said life throws you punches sometimes, I had a bad year back in 98' it will get better, give it time.

Thanks everybody and the wedding wasn't part of the bad September so far that's the only good thing. I'm trying to stay positive but when everybody is posting pics of shooting deer it definitely makes me want to get out there. I will end up going no matter what the MRI says

Hang in there. I've had knee problems in the past. It didn't keep me out of the stand or from hunting. Make the best of the hand your dealt.

    Good luck with the MRI.

I know the pain of losing private hunting ground, but that made me a better public land hunter. I know it's hard right now, but try to look on the bright side if u can.

Things will turn around one of these days.

I know what you mean about posted pics of deer. It's 84F here and 80% humidity, no way I'd hunt now if I had time. I'm stuck selling pumpkins now and waiting on corn to dry down. Pumpkin patch is muddy, that's always fun.

Ground blind, then, as far as the land and your knee; reevaluate.
