Back at it, last sit of my week in NJ. Only sitting till about 0830. Have to get back to butcher the doe from last night, luckily it got down to 48 overnight. BB and 2 small doe in range this morning. Really waiting for antlers. Those have been pretty scarce and small this week. Action is quiet compared to yesterday morning, but it's cool and a great piece of ground. Already can't wait for the VT opener October 1 and my return to NJ for October 22 and a week of rut/pre-rut hunting. Hopefully the big boys will be on their feet! Good luck to all of you hunting this morning!!!

I'm all set up but I'm pretty sure all the deer have left for PA. Sounded like an elephant getting in here this morning

Two fawns at 30 now. I'll be nice today I guess. But if mama shows up she's in trouble.

Well that's it for my first NJ hunt. Let three Doe walk today. Really want some antlers here in NJ. I'll be back October 21 to hunt the pre-rut till the end of Fall Bow on October 28. VT opener October 1 and will hunt there until the 20th, but don't expect NJ like results. VT yearly limit is 3 and there are very few deer in VT and it's a special day when you see one.

That's for sure! That's why we go to NJ, it's just a lot of fun. It's nice to be able to pass on deer knowing that something better will come by. Great place to take youth hunters to get started, licenses are free, even for out of staters, and they see deer most every day. Blessed to be able to go there and have a place to stay and hunt.
