Thanks! It's a ladder stand so not too bad. We'll hoist it up and down with a rope this year for sure. Got some good ratchet straps and 550 cord.

Well in stead of going hunting, you could go for an early morning breakfast and coffee. Then come home and do the balloon thing. At least she might not know right away. Either way I think you got it covered. And ya that's a great plan with the balloon ride! And if she knows you're this serious about hunting, she'll know how much you mean to her if your not hunting opening day. Putty in your hands!!!!!!

Hardwoods, I gotta say congrats and do it opening day. My question is; what took you so long? You took 5 years to figure out you wanted to marry this woman...and she supports your hunting. :poke: Dang it boy, get on the stick! :D

I'm headed to Wyoming in the morning after a trip into Dallas for a doctor's appointment. Leaving from there and headed north. Can't wait. A buddy of mine watch a napping mountain lion yesterday for about an hour 200 yards away. When it woke up, it was sitting there looking around and three deer started down the hill from above it and in short order the lion bolted and caught one of the deer. He said he balled like a sheep being drug to the ground but was dead in a few seconds. The most unbelievable thing he's ever seen in the wild. This was his first time on the property and the landowner has never seen a lion before.

Got a few trail camera pica from a property. Only does so far...and a coyote. This spot is near a massive field so I'm hopeful that bucks will cruise through to get these does.

Friggin yotes are everywhere this year it seems to me. I hear them every night behind the house. Hope to get a crack at a couple this year.

Go Joebow, Does are good eating and 50 pts! NJ opener in 2 days, can't wait, have to shoot a doe before yo can shoot a buck in September, so I'll be looking to get us on the board and some meat in the freezer this weekend. Supposed to be hot 91 on Saturday. Have a spot near the Musconectong River, the deer will have to come to water. Tshirt hunting, gotta love it!

In the stand at 0530 for the NJ opener this morning. A balmy 70 deg!! Season opened at 0605 hrs. Had 2 deer in front of me at about 0545. At 0610 I could make out they were both doe. Put the scope on the bigger of the two, 18 yds broad side, slightly quartering away, followed that front leg up and let her have it. Believe I heard her crash about 50 yds behind me. I'll get down about 8 and go look for her. Wish me luck, it's hands and knees searching around here. Hopefully good blood. Will be my first deer with the new cross bow. Unlimited deer here and earn a buck for early season. So besides giving her time, there's a good chance another one will drop by.

Let everyone know when I find her and will post pics here and on the team score card!
