When sighting in a bow with standard nocks and then changing to lighted nocks with the lighted nocks being different in weight will it cause you to shoot lower. Do I need to sight in using the lighted nocks?

I don't notice much difference, but I do practice with both just because. Usually I'll shoot a couple regular, and keep the lighted for last that way there is 0 chance of ruining it

I've seen very little if any difference between lighted and regular at 20 or 30 yards. At 40 I start to see the lighted nock arrows hit slightly lower.

Depending on your arrow speed, you may not notice any difference at all within your range or it might show up at closer distance.

The only real way to be sure is to test it out for yourself.

Up to 40 you should be ok but to be 100% confident I would shoot a lighted nock with another arrow and compare how it groups. There could be variances in how the nock grips the string as well that could have slight impacts. Always better to know than take our word for it. :tu:

I have not noticed a difference. I shoot Nockturnals all the time. My Practice arrows are identical to Hunting arrows.

I hit about 3" low with lighted nocks. For a while I was shooting lighted nocks from previous seasons but even that gets expensive. I weighed my Nockturnals and they weight 23 grains. So the other day I took strands of 14 ga. electrical wire and weighed the regular nock and trimmed the wire to weight. I superglued the wire into the nock and trimmed so it weighed exactly 23.3 grains (some lumenocks weigh 23.0, some weighed up to 23.6) Now I have practice nocks that weigh the same as lighted nocks for $.25

Practice with lighted nocks and sight in your bow if thats what you are hunting with. Use your regular arrows for just shooting, as long as you are grouping them consistently then dont change anything

Thats a good idea, i will have to try that, i hate turning my lumenoks back off after i shoot
them, plus hate the idea of damaging one just messing around in the yard

I practice with lighted nocks all the time to see where my arrows are hitting at long distances and old Luminox with dead battery's at closer yardage. I've been buying them for year so I have a few.

am using lighted nocks for the first time this year. haven't noticed a difference in impact at my ranges but still believe in practicing with what you'll hunt with. did find they dropped the FOC on my 400 total weight arrow by 1.9.

Biggest issue I've run into is that the lighted nocks hold the string tighter than regular nocks.
Some so much as to give completely different POI.
If you're going to use them then practice with them.
