We have a 99 Kawasaki Bayou 300. It doesn't have and odemeter or hour or even a speedometer. We have beat the absolute crap out of it and so far the only thing we've replaced was the battery and the front tires. My uncle has a 2009ish Kawasaki bayou 700 that is a monster.I hit 82 one time on a blacktop road
If there is anything more bullet proof than a mid 90's Honda, I'd like to know what it is. We have a '94 300, '96 400. '01 350 rancher ES, and I'm telling you the only time we ride them is for work, pulling a trailer through the nasty, hauling out moose, working on roads, what ever it may be, they just keep going. My father-in-law has an early 90's 300 yard queen but gets ridden regularly by the grand kids, you would swear it runs show room new. They're not high powered work horses with lots of clearance but you would be surprised where they will go and who you will pull out of the woods.
before we had the 98 fourtrax 300 we had a 92 fourtrax 200. that bike would go anywhere. if it did get hung up it wasn't to hard to lift or pull
Ok I was wrong we already hit 10k ha. Chased alot of cows, seeded fields and pasture, and built alot of fence with this thing ha. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
I bought a brand new 2013 Grizzly 550 in 2014. I have been very pleased with it. Plenty of power for anything I need to do with it plus it's fun just to ride trails with as well.
those grizzlys are nice. I've had 2 yammer hammers and they were both great bikes. a 350 wolverine and I used to race a banshee.
All my family has is honda and they're great machines. My dad recently purchased a honda pioneer 1000 and its a pretty slick machine. It will be interesting to see if its durability holds true as it has for all of the quads we own. Friend of mine has a yamaha that has been a pretty good machine too.
Has anyone else seen the new ranch version of the Yamaha side by side? Grant woods has one peeking it's head in his latest episode. Looks like a keeper as something really nice, I can't imagine it for actual rough and tough farm work though, lol.
I have a 98 kodiak that works great in the woods a buddy loves the old prairies both machines were cheap and very reliable had a 2004 polaris sportsman that was junk Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
Well here it is......I paid $460 for this gem of a 86 fourtrax 250... this is absolutely awesome. First off it needs new shoes and then im thinking about a custom fit bow case for the front.
That rig brings back some of those...."how am I still alive" memories. Good times on one similar. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Another happy Honda owner here. I bought a 2003 Honda 350 Rancher ES back in early 2005, used off of a farmer. The thing has been rock solid still after 11 years of me abusing it. All I have ever put into it is gas, changed the oil/filter a couple times, a battery, and just a couple months ago I changed the starter ($35). The thing is an absolute work horse. From hauling deer out, working food plots, general farm work, to trail riding, this thing just keeps going. I even used it to plow snow even prior to me getting a Polaris Ranger for the heavier work. That farmer had two identical ones for sale when I bought mine. My only regret is that I did not buy both of them that he was selling that day.
If merely for traversing and not pulling discs or stuff like that ANY one that you can A afford and B carry gear on. Done. We have an oldie that a farm used for years and we pulled from them for pennies...just a 250 but does everything we ask it to including pulling a roller, small trailer and gear/deer to and from.
I gotta ask Covey. What model have you had experience with. We've had numerous Polaris atv's from various years. We now have a 2010 850 XP with EPS. I'd put it up against just about anything. I've been around a Can-Am from the same year. If you needed parts, you had the right machine. I'm with greatwhitehunter3. If it ain't broke don't fix it. JMO.
