I have been running 7 cameras since July so I'll get to checking them here pretty quick. I usually have plenty of bucks to pick from but getting after them is the hard part (I'm a butcher when deer are moving in working). This year will be a little different I have a few more people trained to take care of business so I can be in the woods should be a good year. I'm usually good for a few deer.

Well tomorrow I get to go to the dentist to get a broken tooth fixed. I absolutely hate the dentist more than anything else but that goes back to a tragic event from my childhood. But then Saturday or Sunday we're moving stands and should be my last day in the woods before the season starts. Then I'll have 3 weeks to get my new arrows back and get they're tuned for the bow.

PICT0010.jpg PICT0015.jpg PICT0013.jpg well guys this year my hit list is anything but perfect since I have 120 acres and only one camera set up thats my dads, but this is the one buck from our trail camera on this foodplot we have set up looks to be a decent buck hopefully he meets the antler restriction here, im hoping to hold off till the rut to kill him so i can let him spread his genetics, but wont pass up an opportunity at this guy.

Yeah he is I'm in the process of getting my family on board to have a management plan but it's hard when my whole family hunts our property as well but most of them gun hunt so they have short windows to hunt

Its amazing what can happen if you just implement something. Whether its so many points on a side, or I think the best is age. When I first started hunting the farm I hunt, the people hunting it shot everything thing walked and shot more than they had tags for. They got kicked off the farm and it took awhile ( 3 years) to see a good buck, but every year after that has been better than the last. And its because we try to shoot older bucks.

That's my goal. Is to get an ant let restriction on place for now but then the issue is everyone shooting the does

I think this has been the biggest contributing factor for our farm. The people around us have started to hunt less and the guy that's taken the most deer off ours is very strict about antler size. And now the guy that bought the land across from us says he won't shoot anything smaller than an 8. And now we're starting to see some bigger deer which is awesome.

Yep, I've struggled with that too. Illinois has no limit on does and tags are sold over the counter. Couple of the guys I hunt with think they need to shoot every doe that walks under them because there is no limit. I just try to explain the bigger picture and hope it sticks.

These are also the same people that complain about not seeing as many deer as they used to. Gets under my skin so bad

Had to bang in to work today what with this whole tooth thing and dentist appointment this afternoon. So I figured I could at least try to be productive. This is my first attempt.
    What do you all think?

it looks good a little to much white on the edges of the words maybe make the words white and the edges red or black it would make the words pop more. also guys I took the deer management into my hands and printed off 12 sheets of what I want done on our property and when I go to trim branches today i will tape them all over my cabin so people can read them.
