Yes, I am aware of the discussions this topic could bring about. I just want all of the opinions. So, here we go! I'm trying to decide on the broadheads I want to use this year. My two choices are: Slick Trick Magnum NAP Doublecross Spitfire Thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Magnums because of the power and ability to get through the shoulder in case of a forward shot. However, the Spitfire has almost double the cutting diameter. I've never used a mechanical, so I'm still unsure. Help!
The Slick Trick magnum is a verified powerhouse. It's one of my favorite fixed blade heads. I really like the blade retention system and have never lost a blade. Have not seen the Doublecross yet but for me the Tricks are proven. Good luck.
Slick trick. Great blades that are easy to sharpen and reuse over and over and over. Strong steel ferrule. Super easy to sharpen to a razors edge (now that we have perfected and simplified the process)
Back when we were using other heads we were trying to perfect ways of holding the blades to make sharpening easy and fool proof. when we switched to slick tricks, we came up with a rolling angle guide. Many people don’t sharpen their blades because they don’t have a reliable means to hold the small blades or a way to maintain a consistent blade angle so they throw money away. (or they save the blades hoping to one day return them to service) Putting a razor’s edge on your blades does not have to be expensive, difficult or hazardous. It can be easy, low cost and enjoyable and a part of your bowhunting routine. If you can roll a toy car on a countertop, you can hone your blades. You might be thinking, “I don’t have whetstones or any sharpening media”. For about $1, you can. A sheet of 400 grit sandpaper is about $1 (or less). We make two styles For replaceable blades (straight edged blades that can be removed from the ferrule) At the bottom is a video where we sharpen a slick trick that was very dull. Fixed blades version
We are more than impressed with them but there is room for all kinds of heads in a quiver. Shot placement trumps all makes of heads
I have been shooting Slick Tricks for the past two season and have taken both deer and hogs with them. I really should just stick with them. Thanks for all the input everyone!
Stick to the Slick Tricks. But - If you are shooting a Mathews, make sure you get the heads with harmonic dampeners.
I have the slick tricks. I've only shot a couple deer with them but they had devastating effects. I'm going to have to order that sharpener. I've just been using my dull blades as my target broad heads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Slick Trick Magnums for me between these 2. But if you're thinking shoulder bone ? Take a look @ a Wasp Boss 4 blade. Now that's a bad asssssss head for shoulder bone made of stainless. I blow thru hog shoulders every time. Don't ask me why I try so many other heads, but these Wasps rock ! Sent from my iPhone
If I HAD to choose between those 2 it would be Slick Tricks. If I had MY choice it would something else.
