That sucks how many vials of anti venom you get and any lasting affects.

It took 6 or 7, can't remember exactly. No lasting effect besides a little residual pain in my ankle and knee that have been diminishing since.

Edit: just checked. It was 6 vials initially then 5 more on the second day.

Copperheads and rattlers = dead snake if I can accomplish that. I have let several black snakes, garter snakes go

X2, the rat snakes and king snakes are welcome, but the rattlers and copperheads are not.

no snake is welcome in my world whether there are seasons or not. just ask the spotted atter that slithered vertically up the inside of a chimney coming towards me at work today. the worst part was that I was in my man lift as I was dealing with the snake not much room for escape in the basket. needless to say he is no longer in my customer's house or of this world. I have never seen a snake climb vertical on bricks before.

That was a non-venomous milk snake. There are no venomous adders in PA.

glad to hear you are ok, I run into rattlers every year at work and I can't stand them. I don't mind kind snakes because belive it or not I've seen them kill rattle snakes.

Hmmm it looks tasty...just need some good batter, some seasoning, and a deep fryer and you're in business.

A month or so ago I was building a shed floor and I went out to work on it the next day with the wife, our 4 yr old son and one of our Weimaraners. I had the plywood just laying on on the unfinished floor frame covered with a tarp. I pulled the tarp off and the plywood and was pulling out some 2x4's I had laying between the floor joists. My 4 yr old came over to help me and when he got a less than a foot from the 2x4's I heard the rattle... I hollered for him not to move and picked him straight up. That snake was under those 2x4's less than a foot from his little legs and feet! He didnt get bit but that is by far the scariest thing I have ever been threw in my life. I know Im just like everyone else with kids but I would have taken 100 bites from that snake to keep my kid from being bitten. Its funny how fast you can go from a great day just going on in life laughing and having fun, to something really bad happening or about happening! Im glad you didnt get bit.. but you can bet your bottom dollar if there was one there is more... so just always keep that in mind.
