Just bought a knock off gopro for the upcoming season. Was curious who else used similar cameras and how they mounted them and what quality of films they took?
I think the GoPro would be good for second angles. i.e. filming yourself up close. Video down range would be less than desired in most cases. Its good if you just want to share but you would be better off getting a lowend HD camcorder in my opinion.
I've tried the last 2 seasons to use the GoPro. First year we were in the process of moving so I didn't get to use it very often. No issues with the operation of it but it does fish eye like seth is saying. Up close it doesn't do a bad job. I have it on a head band and use the app to control it. I bought every little gadget for the darn thing I thought I'd ever need. Matter of fact, I'd probably be willing to sell the whole thing.
If you want to take any serious video, upgrade to a camcorder. Just my two cents. Canon has some decent ones between 100-200. Go pros are good for shots you need a wide angle like second angle shots or maybe shots you don't want to put your main camera on
