Dogs leave paw prints on your heart. I am so very sorry you had to go through this. I just lost my dog of 15 years a couple weeks ago. There was nothing the vet could do, but he wanted to be at home - you can just tell. So we took him back to my parents. He wasn't eating, hardly drinking, but still held on for nearly two weeks. I laid nightly on the floor next time him, tears in my eyes, before heading to my house. There are those dogs that are truly your best friend. Luke was mine, from the day we got him when I was 12 years old. I know the pain and I never wish it on anyone.
Thanks folks. I stopped tearing up every time I think of her but I still catch myself thinking about needing to go let her out when I get home or need to bring her in the house, etc... It's a traumatic ordeal from start to finish.
Pets are that void God gave us when all we need is love...no back talk (well rarely haha), no demands, no mutterings, no expectations other than to love them and them to love us. Something so awesome about that relationship, because in some ways it mirrors so much how God loves us...we can forget to feed them and they still love us....scold them and spank them and the very next instance their licking your face or sleeping with you in your chair. You may think the world of your dog...but to your dog you are their world! Blessings brother.
Very sorry to hear! Dogs love unconditionally, which makes it that much harder to bear. Hang in there, it will get easier with time.
Sorry to hear. Yeah, life can be tough sometimes. Love & cherish the good times you get. And as hard as it seems, try to put it all into perspective.
