caught this guy in the backyard.. Not gonna lie if I wake up and see him while I'm sipping my coffee before work I'll send an arrow his way. Decent buck from what he was last year..
nice deer. I'm just against the people who do shoot deer sitting at the kitchen table and they see a deer and shoot it out the back door. To me that is not hunting.
It's not but if you saw the biggest deer that you have ever shot in your back yard and it was legal you would shoot it wouldn't you?
Honestly, No I wouldnt. The house I grew up in we had 1 year where 2 different bucks were bedding daily at the end of our street on a fenceline and would come into the backyard to feed in the evening. 1 buck was a 150 class and the other was about 120" deer. I can honestly, tell you if i ever shot one of those deer I wouldnt be proud of it. That is not Hunting, that is called shooting. If you want to shoot a deer in your backyard out your patio door or whatever go for it but I can guarentee you, I wouldn't shake your hand to congratulate you.
I guess I don't care how or where somebody takes a buck legally not here to judge or appoint myself the voice of how it should be done. Would it be more acceptable if the guy snuck up in a tree vs shooting from the deck?
If you are a hunter and the opportunity comes along to shoot something next to your house - it is hunting!
I completely agree. It is more acceptable to shoot one from the woods instead of from your backyard. Few years ago I shot a doe from my deck and it wasn't the same at all.. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much and the memory of doing it isn't the same as taking a deer from a treestand. But it is legal and I still eat it and provide it to my family so I guess to each his own.
That would be a great start to a day I guess I don't have a problem with it, aslong as your not doing it illegaly,The kids could learn something if they watched you shoot it, gut it, and butcher it
Yea, As long as the meat is being used and its legal I'm fine, Just not hunting to me. To each their own
I would be more proud by patterning a deer (even if its finding that it cuts through my yard) and then hanging a stand and harvesting it because of his pattern than throwing 50 gallons of corn out and putting a stand exactly 20 yards away and waiting for him to come in.
Largest buck I've ever seen in my hometown, we feed them so I don't plan on shooting any. I enjoy watching them eat out the back window, we've had 15 at once on less than 1/2 acre.
It will never happen to me, I have been out sitting in a tree and saw nothing but does and fawns, after the hunt go in the house and have my wife tell me she watched 2 bucks fighting in front down by the pond. Heck one year she saw more bucks from the house than I did from the stand.
