There not the best pictures but they are the best I could do. I built this natural ground blind and just wanted to see other ideas that people have had. Please post pictures of a natural ground blind that you've made. And would you hunt out of this?

I don't have any pictures but if possible *** some back drop in one corner. Right now if something comes in your head and shoulders will be lit up. Adding some back ground in one corner would break up your outline but reduce your field of view minimally. Other than that heck yeah I would hunt out of it. :tu:

Like Copper said add some concealment. But yeah I'd hunt it. I admire your spunk Cross.

Thanks jeepwilly. Thanks for the advice I'll build the back up as high as I can although its probably not necessary. All the walls are high enough so when you sitting you not looking out of the top your not higher than it at all. It took some thinking but I managed to make windows that are just bog enough for me to see out of. Only time a deer would have a chance to see me is of it came through the little door I have haha. Thanks for the advice I will build up back maybe a corner to!

I would put some greenery around it about a month before season, just to make it fit in to the area a little better. I agree with the others, that I would be concerned about the lack of anything to break up my movement when I lift my bow to shoot.

Still a great looking place to hang out.

The greenery doesn't last long especially not on the ground trees are just a little to thick for anything to try taking off very well but I'll try to get some weeds or leaves to throw on it

Deer "learn" or perhaps get conditioned to human activity in a regular area so having some natural foreground/backround helps it seem more normal and not be a red flag.

One thing you might try is bending and tying off saplings or hinge cutting. That way they will stay green as long as everything else. More natural like EG mentioned.

far more elaborate than I build but if you get some brush in front or behind you to break up your outline it should work fine. particularly as time goes on and the critters get used to it. I normally just add a little brush or small trees to a downfall or boulder to provide some concealment without having the blind really stand out...but that's just me. will be interesting to hear how your blind works out for you.

Deer will get used to it. I finished it about a month ago so they have plenty of time to get familiar with it

yea Cross I agree completely. my original comment was not meant as criticism of your construction but to say that I hunt public land and keep my blinds minimal so its not obvious to other hunters that I'm setting up there as well and fooling deer. I hadn't made that clear but you captured it before I edited it.

Yea hunting on public land is completely different. It's not necessarily about tricking the deer it's more about tricking other hunters so they don't hunt where you do haha

I've went so far during shotgun season as to hang orange vests in some dummy stands I had up. Didn't see another hunter. ;)

Nice that's the way you have to do things can't blame you any. My one neighbor owns 20 acres vs my 10 and still prefers to Hunt on our property line. If I ever see him back there I'm willing to ruin my hunt just so he leaves. Let him go somewhere else.
