I'm getting ready to purchase a new bow for this hunting season. The past few seasons I have been rocking a Bear Charge and I feel like it is time to graduate. I love the HTX! I have shot it many times and it shoots like a dream! However, I have heard great things about the Icon and it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper. If you have either can you give me a review?
The only way to answer this is to go shoot the bowtech and then decide. No experience with the bowtech. I did buy a HTX and love it. Good luck in your search.
Yeah you're right, I need to shoot the bowtech. I know I will love the HTX, I just promised my wife I would explore all options before dropping $900 on a bow...which I don't mind doing. Ha. Thanks again guys!
I love my HTR. I like a little bit longer axle to axle bow and I think the No Cam bows made by Matthews are some of the best ever. This is coming from a Hoyt fan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would give the edge to the HTX. As stated before, the HTR is a better bow IMO and you can find a nice used once for a pretty good price
I had an Icon and an Overdrive. The Icon was a very smooth drawing bow, and I loved it. I needed to make a house payment though, and since I shoot the Overdrive slightly better the Icon went on Ebay. I shot the HTX and absolutely loved it, but for $300 I could love the Icon as much. If money was no issue, I would go with the HTX. If on the other hand you have to watch your pennies, the Icon is an excellent bow.
BTX is the new flagship bow for Bowtech this year. I'm a Bowtech guy and will be buying a BTX-28 soon. But as others have said I'd recommend shooting everything your shop has to offer before purchasing. Don't settle on anything just because it's a little cheaper if you can afford it. Make sure you're completely satisfied!
Obviously I am not too worried about speed since I am more interested in the no cam than the htx, but how was your speed once you had your Icon fully set up?
Yeah I think that might be a good idea. I know I haven't shot a Hoyt in years, never touched a Prime, and had no clue what the BTX was lol. I definitely need to spend more time in the shop.
I really don't know what kind of speed I was getting with the Icon. I had it set on the "smooth" setting. It was faster than my PSE Vision that I use for spots, but not as fast as my Overdrive. I have never paid much attention to speed though.
As has been said, whichever one feels the best to you. I wouldn't take either but that's how those company's bows feel to me. But it is really up to your hand!
