My husband has been scouting/roosting them on Fridays. Last week he said they were all henned up. May be another tough year with the drastic weather pattern we've been having. Season opens Saturday.

Took my 3yo out on his first sit in the blind here in jersey. He had a blast, he's been asking to go and I hope he never stops asking! He even brought his bow to help dad finish him off... Lol

Nice Birds Guys.. Been out twice now, hear them all around me, just not coming in my direction. Going back out Thursday, supposed to be pouring for the next couple days here. 3 deer walked in about 50 yards out from and hung around there though, so had some entertainment at least.

image.jpg image.jpg My first day out turkey hunting this year. 4th season in SW Wisconsin. No luck in the morning. So I dropped my dad off at the motel so he could take a nap and I headed out to a new farm we got permission on. Got there and parked at 12:00, headed out, got to a to crow call, and no response. I keep moving down the trail and find another good setup spot, crow call, nothing, some yelps with a couple cutts, and I think I hear a gobble. Yelp and cutt again, yup got a gobble, but he's 200-300 yds back in the woods. I make a move to get closer and find a trail that looks like it leads back to him. Perfect! Get my decoy out and setup. I cutt and Yelp again and he cuts me off. He's closer this time. I play hard to get and go silent. 15 minutes later he gobbles on his own twice and he's about 75 yds out. 4-5 clucks and he gobbles right back. I go silent again and 15 minutes later he shows up 20 yds in front of me and game over. It's my 4th turkey, but first one not in a blind. Awesome hunt!
