I'm looking into a new pair of sunglasses an was wondering what is the best color for fishing? Here are the ones I am looking at since I think there is a 2 for 1 sale, https://shadyrays.com/collections/x-series out of those colors which would be best for fishing?
You will get mixed responses on this from the guys that know the most about fishing glasses. For pure blue sky and high light levels, most will tell you a blue mirror is best. For all around including days with some cloud cover, most will say some variation of amber, copper, or gray with possibly a green mirror finish. I used to tournament fish a lot and went through a lot of glasses until I found what I liked..........99% of the time I'm wearing a pair of Costa Blackfins with 580G lenses that have the green mirror. It's a copper based lens with the mirror coat on them that will work on overcast days but caters to more of a full sun situation.
Personally I like the reflective lenses myself... that way the fish dont know if your actually looking at them or not...
What color you see from the front is nothing but appearance and personal preference. those appear to all have the same lens color, probably the typical gray with green tinge
I use Blue Iridium lenses with my glasses and love them. Light transmission is the most important when it comes to fishing IMO

Since I need prescriptions to see period.....I have my sunglasses a greyish - green color, polarized of course. Seem to work for me.
It is true. You misunderstood what I posted. the lens color does make a difference, but if you take a yellow lens and put a mirror coat on it, it is still a yellow lens when you look through them even though they are mirror from the outside perspective.
Just an FYI, an optical lab should be able to adjust the tinting on the polarized glasses to all but get rid of the green tinge if you want. Heck they even make the transition lenses that get light or dark based as you go inside or outside in a polarized lense.
I have a pair of glasses for river fishing, the ideal color for me is rose colored. Helps keep fishing in perspective.
I have always been a fan of Solar Bat's Moss Green color. As tournament bass fisherman, I found the green was the best of both worlds giving brightness in overcast conditions yet still plenty sufficient for bright sunny days. It also was very good at pulling out the color of bass under the water which was great for sight fishing conditions.
I like my rose lens Maui Jim's, its great in both high and low light conditions. Amber is another good all-around color.
I have prescription Oakley's in black, fire, jade, ice, ruby and sapphire...I like the sapphire, they have more of a brownish/copper tint when viewed through.
