That'll do here as well! I'm I different on the name. No.6 is a good choice for captain! When does everyone's season start? I'll be in Kansas April 14-28th hunting sheds and chasing birds back on the ranch. The season in NH opens May 1 and I'm hopeful to kill another bird up here like last year. Not sure where I'll take my bow bird, probably kansas because we've got a lot of em. Honestly tho, it'll just be nice to get back In The woods and hear some gobbles. Good luck to everyone!
I think May 4th is when my hunt starts in Michigan but I'll be making it to Ohio sometime before that. Went out shed hunting this morning and seen a few strutters and heard a gobble in the distance
Where at in Ohio you hunt? We go out to Bryan (Williams County) to my friends in laws. We aren't going to make opening day but the first weekend we should make it out.
Usually I am down in Hamilton county area for deer but I'll be making it to a buddy's north of Columbus area
I can be captain for team "Thunder Chickens" April 22nd will be my first time out and i can't wait. Had our first double beard on camera, not huge but really cool.
First pull of spring yielded high hopes! http://forums.bowhunting.com/trail-cameras/first-pull-spring-stealth-cam-g42ng-79432/#post1220347
I have just landed two more turkey spots this week super pumped on some prime property that nobody else hunts.. Can't wait for my first season to start
The time is near! I'm starting to get really excited to be in the timber. Hopefully birds will cooperate and I won't have to kill em with a shotgun.
First glance I thought I had a chance at a double beard but, i think his beard is just a little wet. Still cool to see them traveling in the food plots!
Could not be more pumped! Less than two weeks until my first hunt. http://forums.bowhunting.com/trail-cameras/turkeys-v-2-|-covert-mpe5-79573/
What kind of decoy setup do you guys go with, if any? Generally I set up a tom and two hen but am thinking about changing that this year, any thoughts?
I usually run with a primos b mobile Tom and two hens ten yards out facing my blind.. This is what I have had the best luck with most birds in my area have been pretty aggressive and have no problem going to find out what's going on!
Most of the birds in our area are pretty spooky no matter what time of the year. I usually tend to just use a lone hen. Every time I've tried to use a jake or tom birds won't even come in.
1st season starts tomorrow. Not taking time off work but will be hitting the woods after work each day then full days Saturday/Sunday. Birds are still in big flocks but with the warm weather I hope the split up a bit.
I'm a lone hen decoy kind of guy. I've got avian-X breeder decoy that's got me toms killed 5 years in a row...looking to make it 6!!!! I fly to Kansas Thursday. Likely will be shot gunning there. NH season opens May 3, will try for my bow bird there. Good luck everyone!
