Does anyone on here hunt or live in the west coast? Another forum member brought up a good point about how hard hunting is in southern CA. Very limited deer, and I live in a desert region that basically has no deer. So I'm kind of limited to small game and coyote. All the bighorn sheep around my house are protected.

What's your opinion about CA and the west coast? I lived in North Dakota for 3 years and the hunting/the way people hunt seems a lot different.

I agree with you about how difficult it can be to hunt CA but it can be done witj a little hard work. I know thise desert ghost can be elusive but they are out there. I know in my neck od the woods the bigger bucks are in the back country so some hiking might get you one. The more north you go seems like there is more deer. The yote, pigs help keep us slinging arrows besides some target practice.

I'm assuming you're in CA as well? Coyote hunting is pretty common down here, they're everywhere!

Being in La Quinta, you should head to AZ and hunt mule deer you can get a archery tag over the counter. It is just up the 10 freeway for some nice mule deer.

That's what all of my dads friends at work said. I guess I'd just have to go scout the area in this heat!
