I have only bow hunted whitetail and pigs. This year I will be adding turkey, elk and maybe mule on the bow list. The turkey I can take care of behind my house. But as far as the elk goes it will be in CO around Pagosa Springs to the south and east. So if anyone has any directions on that it would be appreciated. I don't want to know your spot I'm just looking for where not to go due to crowds or what not or a good place to start then if I find them then I find them. But that is where I'm at. On my bucket list is the pronghorn. I might get a hunt in NM this year but it will be a rifle hunt. I can live with that because I was told the avg shot is 400-500 yards. I do love my long distance rifle shooting. But thats another thread. Happy hunting and good luck on the new year.
whitetails are the go to but i have found ground hogs and rabbits are alot of fun and a great way to get other people involved!!
Whitetail by a large margin.. I enjoy all types of hunting and would love to go after some elk, muleys, moose or even travel to New Zealand and try a spot and stalk on a some Stage.. But I've always been fascinated with the native whitetail and can't think of anything I'd rather be doing and pursuing them.
I'm going to say whitetail deer......mostly because the chase is so fun and because there is nothing better than the feeling of successfully shooting a big mature deer. Second to deer is probably turkey or goose and duck but id really love to try elk one day too.
I have always said whitetails were my favorite, but spring turkey (with a bow of course) is fast becoming a close second for me. I had a lot of fun last turkey season. I don't get frustrated like I do when I'm not seeing any deer at all, the weather is nice, and watching big Tom's strut all around in bow range is pretty awesome.
