I was able to buy myself some time with my current bibs. I got the zipper to close one more time and gorilla glued it. I have to put on and take off via the shoulder straps now but at least I have the option of watching for a sale to buy a replacement.
With Spring around the corner places down here usually start marking them down to get rid of them. Hopefully that will happen up there for ya.
I am a big fan of Carhart. I have insulated bibs, uninsulated bibs and my favorite, the flannel lines carpenter pants along with several jackets. I must work harder than most on here as I only get about 7 years out of my jackets. I will always buy Carhart.
I'll join the choir in saying that their outerwear is worth the price. I am lucky in that there is a store in Amish country an hour from me that sells Carhartt's seconds. It is basically stuff that is not perfect, a missed stitch or a minor blemish somewhere. I bought a jacket for around $50 that is normally $100 in other stores. I don't know how you would go about finding such a shop, but it would be worth looking into.
I've always wanted a nice work jacket for the winter, they just seem so expensive. I usually throw on my fleece lined plaid lumber jacket but maybe I'll get one myself.
Myself and all the people I know wear Carhartt and have yet to hear one complaint. It's one of the brands where quality is never in question.
I like carhartt's uninsulated stuff but found their insulated stuff to not be quite as warm. It holds up for sure. I like walls or bernie for insulated gear actually. Don't get me wrong, i have a ton of carhartt products which I love, actually have a pair of their gloves right next to me on my desk. When I work outside and it's really cold, I just like to have more insulation and have very light layers, just my style, everyone is different
