It was probably the most messed up hunt of the season.
First 3 little bucks came out at 3:30. They feed in the plot for about 5 minutes then ran off like they were spooked. I never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
It wasn't until 4:45 that the next deer came out. Doe and fawn. They walked right under me. The fawn noticed me. Those 2 left.
At 5:20 the doe that is limping came out. I decided I was going to take her out. Just as she is getting ready to step in to the shooting lane she makes a hard right towards me. No shot now. Now there are 7 more deer under me that came out. They all notice me trying to shoot their little buddy.
That's it. Season over. Haven't seen Big Boy the last 2 times on the stand but my father-in-law still sees him.
    Need to find his sheds

Fixing to head out for first day of a 2 day sit. Rut is in full swing and got some big boys constantly coming by my blind. Here's to hoping one comes through this morning!

Yep our season isn't over until the 31st. Saw a few young bucks chasing this morning. Nothing worth picking the bow up for though.

Sign me up. I'd take just a few more days at least.

In the stand in NJ! Hoping to see some. Colder here. Ground sign. Buck or doe, be looking for either. Been real slow in NJ and VT. Haven't shot a deer yet and only drew back once. Haven't let an arrow fly. Been a strange season. In the pines, surrounded by thickets. Deer seem to be cruising through. Wish me luck! image.jpg
