Hey guys & gals I've had my Bowtech Fuel for about a month now, and I've been shooting most days. I noticed that the covered part of my bowstring, right where it enters the one cam's groove, is showing some wear (see Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet). Is this normal, or should I have it looked at?
Some cams designs are awful hard on strings, specifically servings. It very hard to tell from a picture but that doesn't look too bad or anything to worry about right away, however keep an eye on it. Also in the close up picture cam looks like it might have a small burr in it on the closest lip....I would check that right away and if needed smooth it out. After that keep an eye on it.
Trials hit it. I would take it back to the dealer and have him look at it. Doesn't look bad enough to stop shooting it but I'd watch it.
My 2 week old Bowtech RPM 360 had the serving literally unravel and I was told Bowtech wouldn't do anything. So I just used my normal string maker and moved on. In my experience Bowtech's are hard on serving, but usually where it bends around the post. Trial may be right, there could be a burr there. Try running a cotton ball over it to see if it snags.
