Yep! It just barely touches my wrist/ hand but it's there. Wouldn't consider not having one on a hunting bow. I use a finger sling on my 3D bow.
I like too keep one on during the summer months when I'm target shooting. However I don't like how you have too slide your hand though it before you grab the bow, plus when you have gloves on it can get kinda hard to get your hand in without making a lot of movement,
I too use one. Its for peace of mind. I doubt I'd drop these newer bows that don't move on the shot, but you never know.
Personally I think it's pretty useless..something the shop can tact on to your final bill as a needed accessory...
Maybe if you used on you wouldn't have torqued the bow and made such an iffy shot on that buck.... Sorry I couldn't help myself, you are always whining about keyboard heroes judging others choices and your post was pretty much like that .
Wow! This is a tough crowd.^ i never used one before I bought my two newest bows, but I don't see how they hurt your form?
I use one for the simple fact that I dropped a buddies bow when I first started out hunting. I didn't know wrist straps were even an option until I bought my next bow. The bow I shoot now doesn't lung forward like my first bow, which was a Darton. I shoot open handed. It is strictly what I'm comfortable with. It is loose enough for me to get my hand up through it with gloves on. It is a preference thing. I don't at all believe they are useless. It would be like saying that face paint is useless. It is a preference. Most of what we "all" do is preference or what we are use to.
I don't think the do hurt form at all. If anything they are a good tool to teach good form. Allowing the shooter to feel comfortable about not gripping the bow rather letting the force of the draw hold the bow into the hand, and allowing the bow to naturally fall into the fingers once shot. When I start my daughter with a bow it will have one at least in the beginning.
My comment was meant in jest really; Justin has commented about keyboard heroes judging on the web show before so I couldn't help myself lol. I am one I don't care what anybody uses. I have recently read that both wrist slings and stabilizers were called useless, and it's all opinion really. I am a firm believer of use what you like and be happy .
Well I have been shooting for many years and can say it doesn't matter with or with out its preference. Hutch
I don't use the strap, it's just something else to grab onto things. I have no shooting issues without it.
I use to use a wrist strap and thought I would always have one. My new bow didn't have one and getting one was on the bottom of my priority list. I haven't missed that thing yet...or dropped my bow.
If I didn't have one it would get ugly. I've had two different bows jump out of my hands upon the shot. I just take D-Loop material and make one. I make it pretty loose, but it's enough to keep the bow from dropping. My natural grip doesn't touch the front of the riser like some do.
I use one for hunting. It's very loose but it prevents the bow from jumping at the shot. I use a finger sling on my target bows as well.
I'm with the guys about the security of it. It's just comforting to me knowing that if for any reason I didn't wipe all the butter off my hands from my greasy breakfast, my $1600 rig won't take a 20 ft swan dive.
Nope, no need they are just accessories for the "color flair guys"! The new bows don't jump in the hand like the bows of the past....like Zarr said unless
