Alright guys, my wife just bought me a new bow for Christmas and now i have the great pleasure of starting to customize everything... (i'm like a kid in a candy store! )

This next hunting season, Utah DWR has just announced that bow mounted range finders are now allowed for the archery hunts. I have never used a bow mounted rangefinder and am now toying with the idea of getting one.

Have any of you used a bow mounted range finder? If so which one is the best and what are the pro's and con's.

Also, need to figure out which sight and rest to put on the bow..

I'd go with either a SmackDown or a QAD rest.
As for sights, my favorite now is an AXT Titanium 5 pin w/ .019 pins.

Not familiar with bow mounted rangefinders.

Congrats on the bow. I don't know anyone with a bow mounted range finder so can't help on that. Will be interested to see what responses you get.

A good friend of mine has a Luepold Vendetta on his bow and he loves it. They were pricey new, and have been discontinued, but still can be found on ebay. I've searched for others and they're hard to find. Seems like no one makes them anymore. Don't know if it's a legality thing or what.? Seen one that is arm mounted. It's pricey also. Good luck.

Why not just get a handheld RF? You will be able to range shooting lanes and other distances without having to hold/point your bow and you won't have to show that much movement. A hand held will probably also save you some money.

I noticed Leupold is going to rerelease the vendetta, they may have changed the mount for it.

Sounds like a neat idea but the movement issue makes me wonder.

The big companies, (Swarovski, Leica etc.) that have come out with a RF binocular combo seem to have that worked out well making just one movement to do it all.

New Bow for Christmas! & Bow Mounted Rangedfinder

Luepold Vandetta is the only bow mounted RF that I know of. I think my pro shop has one laying around. I can ask if he wants to sale it... Congrats on the new bow!
