I am sitting in a blind over a picked corn field while my son is watching a green field with Fletch. Hopefully the last hour is good.
I haven't been around the site much lately....just a couple threads so I may have missed it...but have your kiddos or you landed anything Tom? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Same here, this is only my second year hunting in NC, I know this isn't typical weather for this time of year but does it happen every once in awhile?
Yes, generally not for long periods like we've had. The deer near me have generally gone nocturnal with the warmth this late in the year. This morning was the first deer I've seen in a while up during light.
In the 20's here. Taking of this afternoon to set in the stand. Wind is right so is the temp and the moon. Got home from work last night, about 4:30, bucks were in the standing beans eating.
The kids did good turkey hunting but bear hunting was tough. Justin just shot a buck in Iowa on Monday that I started a post in the whitetail section and I suck
Good luck. Let us know what u see out there. My son is home from Mizzou, and we are going out tomorrow!
11 total deer. 3 bucks, 5 does, and 3 button bucks. 1 of the 11 was a shooter before he broke 5 of his 9 points. Good luck with you son!
Yes. At least where I was hunting tonight the bucks didn't show any interest in the does. Last night when I got home from work there were 2 bucks in the standing beans that ran off in to the timber. From what I've seen the bucks are grouping back up around here.
Will be going out in the morning. The nasty 9 is still on the prowl as of yesterday. Temp drop tonight so things should be moving in the morning. I've got off until Christmas eve so I'm gonna hit it hard and try and fill a tag.
I agree completely ruteger. Hopefully it is this guy....................... Appears he is willing to battle also. This isn't the best pic but this is who came by.
Heading out for my first hunt in awhile. Going back to a point on a long ridge where I found big buck sign earlier in the season. Not getting fancy. Just hoping he is bedded in there with the NW wind that is present and will feed as dark approaches.
