To anyone ice fishing already, I hate you! I'm just hope there will be safe ice after Christmas when I plan to going up north. If not might have to head west or northwest.
I made my own tip alarms. I used a door/window alarm from harbor freight. I drilled a hole on a side of the alarm. I took a white frosted pen and removed the ink part. I placed a l.e.d. inside the plastic tube of the pen. Then I solder the l.e.d. to the speaker of the alarm. When the flag goes up it will make the sound but the led works great at night. The only problem is the alarm runs on watch batteries. I also made my own fish TV with cheap ebay stuff. The total cost was around I think $30 for color lcd and night vision camera.
Do you always use bobbers for sunfish? I've got a few buddies that were on Red this past weekend and did really well on eyes.
Almost always for sunfish - Never for crappies. Sounds like we are for sure going to Red this weekend. Will hopefully be able to update the thread with pictures!
Latest report from where we are going out from. It's a go this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's later this year when we can get the wheel house on the lake. Caught our limit but the fishing is very slow for red lake standards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I gotta say I'm pretty envious of all of you already finding hard water to fish on. According to the extended forecast I'll be lucky to find any fishable ice until well after the new year here in New Hampshire. It is crazy unseasonably warm here. We haven't even had a decent snowstorm. Good luck out there to all those with a line wet, and stay safe!
