Well, I ended the season on a good note tonight and put down a nice doe for my grandpa. I saw quite a few tonight and ended up shooting her with about 5 minutes of legal time left on the season. I wanted to wait as long as possible to see if the buck would show and luckily the deer stayed in range long enough. I saw at least 7 tonight but with them coming in and out and losing sight of them, it could have been more. 3 came trotting out of the woods acting nervous right before I took the shot on this one. Turns out it was a young 5 or 7 point that bumped the group of 3. He came out about 30 seconds after I shot the doe right on the trail that the other ones trotted out on.
Anybody in the stand this morning? I'm gonna whack a doe if one comes by. My time is getting limited so I'm ready to fill this tag then start trapping and killing coyotes. They are getting out of hand with 5 or 6 packs constantly using the property.
It's going to be 33 here in the morning. If I didn't have this big project I would totally be in the woods.
Good luck get after it, you got this every minute you sit without a shot you are a minute closer to your next shot.
I have been blessed. I got the opportunity to hunt in a more northern county than we usually hunt. That means I can hunt more because it is in a different bag limit zone. I am only going after a buck now, but I at least get to be back in the woods!
The night before sitting in a brand new set!! It's like Christmas Eve gonna have a hard time trying to sleep while thinking about a giant walking by in the morning!!
