If you took HWY 36 across our state, you drove within a couple hundred yards of my best stand.

Missouri has a good population of deer and the APR's have sure produced a lot more nice bucks but like anywhere else it's still all about location. If your not hunting the right locations, your still not going to see a lot of deer.

Tagged a decent spiker on public land this morning with the slug gun. Adding to the freezer was and still is much needed. [IMG]

With the warm weather this weekend I got some much needed things done around the house Saturday. Ran bait and cameras again yesterday to see if I cant locate something other then does.... Made it out yesterday evening to one of our spots and sat in the blind with pops. Did end up having two does come by at 60 yards at 4 then then looked like they where going to pop back out at 40 before dark but never made it out of the thick. Will be back out there Tomorrow evening trying to get a doe.

Hey guy, sorry I haven't been on much. Been hunting on my days off. I'm going back this Sunday & Monday. It's rough here this time of year. I haven't seen much at in the past few weeks.

Boot what have the temps been down there??
These unusual warm temps for this time of year has been making things tough up here. As of Tuesday still only have does and spikes showing up. Tuesday night I almost got it done on a doe again. needed her to step out from behind a tree and she just angled away hard keeping covered by brush and then to far.
Will be checking cams this weekend again and hunting evenings. Any one else going to make it out this weekend??

Well guys, good news is that the shotgun seasons are over in IL. Which means I'm not forced to sit out any more weekends this year. There is a muzzleloader season this weekend and a couple of other antlerless and CWD seasons, but I can still bowhunt through all of them.

Going to hunt pretty hard this weekend at the local spot. I'll be shooting the first doe that walks by as well, the freezer is empty and I'd rather shoot does here than my spot down in Fulton County.

I'm headed out next weekend as well. If the weather is mediocre, I'll hunt the two leases I've got in the NW corner of the state. If it looks like we are going to have high pressure and colder temps I'll travel south again to see if I've got anything moved in on my place in Fulton County. I still have a glimmer of hope that Steve is alive but I know the chances are slim.

My wife and son head back home to NY the day after Christmas for a few weeks so I'll hammer it then till our last day of season. I'll hunt the weekend of the 26th down in Fulton County with DeCroo, and then I took off work from 1/1-1/5 so I've got several days of hunting. I'll also be after it the weekends of 1/9 and 1/16, so I've still got a fair amount of time left.

Now it just needs to get cold..........

Grab a double Rick, big doe and the buck dogging her! Haha!

Craziness yesterday here...while I still haven't hunted much or any since gun started I was driving yesterday and saw two bucks dogging does right at 2PM along highway through a bunch of sassafras shoots. Crazy!

I am with you on this. Warmer temps are making it a struggle here. Not sure what my odds are for a buck here the rest of the year but I will be hitting Ohio as much as I can when our season closes.

    A glimmer of hope.

We are still in the gun season for PA and I continue to wish for a big buck. I will be out tomorrow again from Dark to dark. This will likely be the last all day hunt. I have had a lot of them this year and the family is ready for the season to slow a bit.

This morning I decided to head out back for a short hunt. I elected the cross bow and not the gun. Had 8 doe come under my stand and was just waiting for a buck to be following all that tail... No buck appeared.

After Dec 25th, I will take a doe. That is when our late season archery and blackpowder open.

Good luck to everyone still at it!

Pick of one of the 8 that came around:

It was 64 today. Suppose to be 67 tomorrow. Crazy this time of year. Most of the movement on my cams are mid day.
