This has been a tough season so far for me. I've got plenty of deer on the cameras, and even some of the bigger buck walking by during hunting hours, but I've only had 1 deer in bow range and it was a small 8 pointer with a broken up rack. We've got the rifle season starting up this weekend, and after that I'm hoping to be able to get out a few times during the late season to see if I can get lucky. Very frustrating season for me so far.....but it still beats sitting at home or work!

what's the good word fellas? How goes it? Threads been quite lately, anyone still hunting? Had a rough last weekend didn't see many deer or have much movement. Will be in a duck blind tomorrow morning for opening day here...pretty excited for fowl season! Then back in the deer woods the weekend and back and forth between birds and deer.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Enjoy and eat well!!!

I haven't hunted in a while actually. It's been a good month or month and a half since I've been in the stand with an arrow nocked. I want to get out this weekend but there's just been so much stuff going on the woods that it's scared the deer away and I have basically 0% chance at shooting a good doe other wise it's only the yearlings that hang around all the commotion and I'm not looking to kill something that young.

Due to the insane amount of rain we have had, our swamp is not huntable and the deer really dont want much to do with it. I need some cold weatjer to freeze it and some snow to give deer traction while in the swamp. My plan is to plug one more doe (this time ill get pics) and still be buck hunting at same time. Once the cold and snow moves in wr can start to pattern for winter feeding

Not that it matters for our score but I haven't hunted since I shot my 2nd buck a few weeks ago. Hoping to get out tomorrow night and put the new Halon 6 to work on a doe. I have a goal to shoot one more slick head before the end of the season so we'll see what happens.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Yes sir - mission accomplished. Loving this new bow so far.

Pretty sure I'm done killing stuff for this season. I may hang up the bow and just film other people until the end.

Saturday I stopped in at my local shop to pick up another antlerless tag and the owner says to me "I thought you were done?" Now that Graf bet me I can't shoot a doe from the ground without a blind I'm on a mission to do just that before the season ends. I have the perfect spot to do it, just need the right weather conditions. Tried on Saturday night but only saw a few pheasants.

Need some cold weather and a NW wind and it's game on. Trophy does look out! :bhod:

It's been really quiet here. It's getting towards the end of the season so I guess that should be expected. Good luck to you guys on the end of the season. I know next season I'm going to have to come up with a serious game plan if I want to get a crack at a buck. Going to have to delete the old trail cam pics and put back out some time. I know it's going to be tough because all they do is move through during the night but I might see if I can hunt the land my grandpa hunted years ago because I know there's some good ones out there.

Well I'll be heading back into the woods for one final weekend to try and get something done. We've gotten a few trail cam pics of a couple of the big ones still moving through, unfortunately they've all been at night, but there's always a chance. I'll either be in a stand watching one of our food plots or a stand about 50-60 yards off in the morning. For the evening set-up, I think I'm going to borrow Justin's idea of taking a chair and just tucking myself in some thick stuff close to a couple trails leading to a food plot. I'll keep you guys updated if I get lucky.

Pretty sure Fitz will wrap things up around the end of February. I don't think many seasons go a whole lot longer than that.

You can not join in the middle of the season/contest when teams are already put together...you'll have to get on board for next season.
