The wind blew everything away here. It is hard to believe that the wind was blowing like it was. It was clear with 50+ mph gusts.

We started getting pretty good winds after sun went down and it just rained pretty good for little while but don't seem to be goin as hard now. That sucks though man, hope everyone is safe.

Thanks Brother. At least it wasn't the Tornado we had in July. Instead of putting deer down today I was putting shingles back down with tar. I tried hunting this morning but it just wasn't working out. I'm going to try tomorrow afternoon and again Friday. Gun season opens here Saturday. I'll be in a stand with my bow hoping the gun slingers run some deer by me. We have a good hiding place since we don't gun hunt at all.

We had a pretty good storm around then too, probably same one. Wrecked the bigger town we have pretty good but got lucky where I'm at it went just north of us. Knocked down some building and tore out trees though.

I went out a little this afternoon after work but didn't see anything, not surprised though. I'll be out all weekend though and hopefully next week taking off work. Our gun season starts next Thursday.

Glad it missed you guys. There was no way I could try it this afternoon. It was unreal.
I do have my eye on a few really nice bucks. It is all about being in the right place at the right time. We'll see how it all pans out.

I shot a buck the other day and have all pics and scoring. Is there an official posting page to enter it?

Congratulations man, we should be moving up actually haven't looked in awhile though ha.

Only thing is on the scorecard thread you'll need the score break down if you have it. Great looking buck though.

Getting ready to head out. Going to have to wing it. The wind changed and is completely wrong for the stand.

Umpire Jim, I think Fitz will require a 2nd picture to count the deer. Just a heads up.

I got a trophy doe this afternoon!
Man have I earned it. Pretty sure I've hunted 40-50 days straight, excluding Sunday's! she must have been rousted out of bedding by a buck, but I never saw him. I kept catching flashes of deer in the briars, and crashing. I didn't have any cameras on, I was trying to find the buck in my binos when the Doe popped out and walked right toward me, then turned to go back into the cedars.
Quick thinking, draw, anchor, find a lane, aim, wait for the doe to step into it, release!
Shot looked good, and I thought I heard her go down, but I waited till dark incase the buck was going to show himself.
Easy track job, thank god. Hit her a little back, but hit both lobes of the liver, which in my experience bleeds out about as fast as a heart shot if you get lucky. I'm so relieved and thankful to get this doe! Half of it I'm giving to the caterer who did my wedding in September, the rest is for the wife and I.
Now I'm really ready for a big buck. :)
    Good luck out there!

shot a real nice buck yesterday. hit him high. couldn't find him last night. tries a guys dog that is in training to track deer. to much scent in the area for her to stay on track. might just have a sore back, but will try the dog again tomorrow to see if she can smell a dead deer in the area. I know I wont be hunting the farm anymore this year. so if I don't find this buck it will be very hard for me to try for another one.

Good luck headstrong. I need some help. I shot a doe yesterday and I can't figure out how to put my pics on here. I just posted pics a month ago, but I'm not figuring it out today for some reason.
