Temps have been really unseasonably high here. 40's through the first two weeks of November in Maine is weird! Should be 20 degrees cooler and spitting snow...
Good morning so far seen 2 does, one smaller buck and a button buck!!! Best sit so far this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well just had a little scrub buck come by he was acting funny then I saw why he had a big coyote following him. Tried to shoot the coyote but couldn't get a shot. Man I hate coyotes!
Unless you changed your name to Jesus, El Nino or mother nature i'm pretty sure that wasn't your fault. He's a mature deer, he didn't get that way by being stupid, he had that 47th sense they have and realized something wasn't right and bolted. Ohhh well, i will sneak down in about an hour and find a new place to hang this stand. That's why we do this isn't it? It's not called going to the grocery store.
Saturday is shaping up to be a favorable set up. Light winds, high pressure and temps below freezing to start the morning. Coming off 48 hours of high winds in the upper 20's gusting near 40. Hoping they have been bedded down and will be up and moving making up for lost time. Back to work on Monday and hand cannon Friday.
Waiting on heavy rain to quit then headed to the farm. After all day in the rain Tuesday I just couldn't force myself out there this morning.
Get to hunt a whole new property tonight so pumped winds slowing down bucks should be on their feet. Here are the 3 main hitlisters we are after on the new property.
Wind history since sunset yesterday. Debating whether to go tomorrow or not. Supposed to be windy early but laying down in he afternoon. Would be dealing with gusts into the mid 30's all morning. Or do I stay out until more favorable conditions Saturday and have one last day at it?
I'm still out, starting to rain a little but I'm going to stick it out. Brought some food just in case I stay all day. Good thing because I'm starving already!
At home mending up after yesterday. Tomorrow i will be bringing a friend who is a new hunter out to hunt the public land all day.
That's what I'm doing....add Monday tho.....all day sits as I only have those 3 days and next Friday to get it done....then the guns come out to play...
Well I'm all buckled in for the rest of the day. I'm over looking about 3/4 an acre of good looking clover. I dare a doe to come by this evening.
